Eat my shorts, Missoni (p.s. don't sue me, please, you're great!)
So, in addition to a fantastic weekend with the UKnitty crew, Glittr gave me the most lovely present- a scarf kit from a women's cooperative in Cumbria. The kit included 16 mini balls of wool, all different, all handspun and handdyed with natural dyes, including mohair, boucle, solid colours, multicolours, in soft, subtle russets, olive greens, dark reds, pinks etc. Couldn't contain myself, so started knitting straight away on friday night, throughout Saturday and Sunday and finished it at my parents on Sunday night. So this scarf has its origins at the British Library, a pub in Islington, and Trafalgar Square.
Apologies for the glaring camera-work. Taken in bright sunshine by my papa.
I swear that this scarf is Missoni personified- handknit, unusually stripy (as in the stripes go length-wise rather than width-wise) and in rustic shades.
Isn't it darling?
And whilst walking to work through Covent Garden this morning, I passed Germaine Greer, and I swear, she could hardly contain her excitment at my scarf. I could see scarf-lust in her eyes.
No Germaine, knit your OWN scarf!

Wow, it looks so great! It is longer than I thought it would be as well. The colours are so you too.
Take care

Wow! You made a great job of that Scummie!
It IS very Missoni! I gave another of the same it to my mother in a grey and pale pink colourway, and she finished hers last night. It looks lovely! But not as lovely as yours.....
You suit it much better than Germaine would anyway.... ;)

I love that - I'm very tempted to get a kit for myself - it'll be good to try something on circular needles. It's pretty cool to see Germaine Greer too!
