Secret Pal: The Final Package
My lovely Secret Pal has sent her final package (to me, that is- I didn't mean for that to sound like a threat). Lovely to receive however, including a lovely pair of dangly earrings (turquoise, hurrah!), more chewy Koala sweets, some softsoft Jo Sharp Rare Comfort Mohair, some sock yarn, a DVD (!) for me to weep to when Mike is out being manly and a fun map of Oz... and a special envelope that I cannot open until April the 15th.
The anticipation....
And so, on to something that has nothing to do with knitting whatsoever. Last weekend (Easter) there was some pretty funky surf around, tho' the weather conditions varied from scorchio to dull and Cornish damp. The only photos I managed to grab were in the latter conditions, but a couple turned out ok.
Mike at *coughcough* (edited for surfing sensibilities and to prevent crowds, sorry- ha! as if any surfers will be reading this..), a reef break that only starts to work over 3 feet...
The fat green mullet board that he is riding in this picture had to be sent to the board hospital after this session, as our newbie pal John managed to whack a fin into the side. Quite a spectacular wound and done on his first proper stand-up green wave. The boy done good.
Here you can see the start of the crash sequence... I feel so proud!
And some oyster catchers that flew past as I was watching the surfers. They are very handsome birds, I think, with their stark black and white plummage and sharp orange beaks.

Hey there Scummypal! These piccies are great! DJ Mikey looks very fine at his secret spot, and I agree about the oyster catchers - though I always like saying that I have been watching a shag..... and their mullety hairdo always makes me laugh along with their shifty demeanour...... ah sea birds, don'tcha just love 'em?? And you are are very lucky Skitten with all those yummy goodies. Hope DJ Mikey's tummy is better....

I forgot to add, my lovely SP also sent me a tube of Veggimite! It has been placed in the van food box already by mikey

p.p.s. The Rocks (you might be able to see the packet in the above picture)- the tiny chips of chocolate, covered in mineral-coloured sugar, which clink and chink when you bounce them up and down in the palm or your hand? They've gone. I ate them all. They were great.
