Would you wear this jumper? Well, would you?
So that we can all recognise each other, allowing individuals to either a) greet their Knittyboard pals like long lost cousins or b) slink away to Libertys with no one noticing, all those UK-ites meeting up next weekend for the UKnitty away-weekend have been asked to knit (and wear) a knitted badge. Here is mine...
A rather orange fella with a definate homecast feel about him. The yarn was Koolaid dyed by mysel'n Glittr last year, can't remember what colours (oh go and look in the appropriate entry- it'll tell you there if you are REALLY interested!). I think the yarn is the discontinued Rowan Magpie Aran. Couldn't be sure tho'.
So would I wear this in real life? If either I was only 5 inches tall, or the jumper were truly big enough for me? I mean, look at it! Look at the way the arms stick out! Look at the polka dots! Do I LOOK like someone who would wear polka dots? Question answered, I think.
And here is Skitten (or at least Skitten's avatar) in the jumper. Doesn't really fit does it? Kupee's arms are too stumpy, not tall enough, and I had to wrench her head off with a screwdriver.
However: the best thing about knitting this little jumper? I mastered the MAGIC LOOP (ooooooh oooooi oi! That's Magic Loop music, that is). There is, apparently, a booklet on how to do this technique (which utilises a long circular needle to do what you would normally do with DPNs) and you can also take classes in it. Pah! I say to that. It was really easy. Do a search on the web or on the Knittyboard and you'll come with a description of how to do it. Socks for me next, esp. now there is a sock workshop in the new Spring Knitty.

I'm also coming out of lurkdom, but not to send you things... I think the sweater badge is cute, but only as a badge ;) It's so cool that the UK knitty people are coming together!

Actually there is a remarkable similarity between kupee and your baby pic..... hairstyle for one..... ;)
