Robert still rocks

Robert Plant and The Strange Sensation playing a blistering gig at the Sage, Gateshead last night. Great night out. The man still has a fantastic voice, amazing stage presence and gave really good value for money. And wore leather trousers. And rock god posturing. And he can still hit the high notes with no visible means of support.

Pity the Sage couldn't get its act together to serve the people wanting a drink at its numerous bars - running out of white wine, and refusing to serve customers because you ran out of change...... erm hello???? Not enough staff, and the ones they did have didn't seem to have been briefed properly on what was going on that evening. Even Robert Plant himself commented that it would have been nice to get the first few rows of seats taken out of Hall 1 so that a few people could dance.

Still the band were excellent. Made up for the recent rip off that called itself a Goldfrapp gig - I don't call the 45 minute set they played value for money. Get a grip and lose some of the ego people. Take a leaf out of the book of Mr Plant and his band. They will still be around long after Goldfrapp are merely a mildly amusing memory.

Cool picture. Glad you had a good gig after the disappointment of Goldfrapp the other week. I've been subjected to the Sage catering before and would strongly suggest sneaking in a flask to any future gigs there as they really don't deserve the custom with service that poor. Anyway, sounds like a cool night, looking forward to hearing more about it soon.
