Rockpool scarf

Rockpool colours, yum.

Pebbles gave me 2 skeins of Kaalund Mohair Boucle, Nimbus, for my birthday. They came in a scarf pack, but I wasn't keen on the free pattern, so after knitting a bit I frogged, found some bits and pieces in my stash and knitted this scarf in rockpool colours. I knitted it horizontally, using garter stitch, inspired by a couple of kits I bought from The Wool Clip for Scumkitten and my mother. This one had 270 stitches, on 8mm needles, and ended up being around ten feet long..... Nice and snuggly if we ever get any horrid weather this winter. I love how the colours turned out. The sequence of stripes went something like this:

  • Kaalund Boucle Mohair, blue

  • Kaalund Boucle Mohair, green

  • Kaalund Boucle Mohair, blue

  • Kaalund Boucle Mohair, green

  • Kaalund Boucle Mohair, blue

  • Kaalund Boucle Mohair, green

  • Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece, New Age Teal

  • Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride, Seafoam

  • Kaalund Boucle Mohair, blue

  • Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride, Seafoam

  • Kaalund Boucle Mohair, green

  • Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece, Dusty Sage

  • Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride, Seafoam

  • Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece, New Age Teal

  • Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride, Seafoam


Then reverse the stripe order back again..... cast on and off leaving the ends free to form a fringe, then knot in threes to finish. I will upload a better pic when I get some decent light.

Woah, that is gorgeous! And I deserve a slap for having no knitted items to blog- actually I do have some, but am waiting to finish several before I show them off....

I took these late last night and I amat workduring the day when the light is OK (its been sh*t the last few days, dull and grey....)... Ipromise to upload more when I can do it justice!!
