Fantastic Day!

So I'm at my desk writing a report on Internationalisation in Geography, and Pandora has just picked out 'Fantastic Day' by Haircut One Hundred. I haven't heard that song for decades... a summer song, no doubt. Go rummage in your record collection and put it on now. And whilst you're at it, find some Prefab Sprout too and listen to 'Moon Dog'.

There. That's told you.

It's pulled up 'Sexuality' by Billy Bragg now. I'm on an '80s trip! In fact, I saw Billy in the flesh when I was a young teenager (12, I think) and my mum and aunt took me to Greenham to go on a peace march. I still have vivid memories of that day, including my aunt giving a lift home to an insane (in a fun way) woman wearing a full length mink coat (it was, after all, an outside event, and it was spring). See, Greenham attracted all types.

thank you for that blast from the past! I'm an American with a taste toward "british invasion/new wave/whatever" records.

Now I must pull out both bands and listen to them. Fantastic Day really is a great song...

Great blog, by the way. Ta ta!

Hmmm. Prefab Sprout were from round these parts. The rest I never listened to. They weren't HARD enough for my listening tastes. Hell I didn't listen to Prefab Sprout! Now, I was at knitting club tonight and the DJ played a Lynyrd Skynyrd track (Sweet Home Alabama) and even *I* thought wtf???? Good song though - Blasts them 80s kids into oblivion..... Still not HARD enough though.
