O, Those Finns...

Sent by a Finnish friend-of-a-friend.

Finns...

15°C - It will never get warmer than this in Finland, so let's start
here; the Spanish put on their hats, winter jackets and gloves. The
Finns are sunbathing.

10°C - The French desperately try to start the central heating in their
houses. The Finns plant flowers in the garden.

5°C - Italian cars won't start. The Finns are cruising in cabriolets.

0°C - Distilled water freezes. The water in Aura å (the stream in Åbo)
gets a little thicker.

-5°C - People in California get frostbites. The Finns have their last
barbecue before winter.

-10°C - The English turn on the heating in their houses. The Finns start
wearing long sleeved sweaters.

-20°C - Australians escape from Mallorca. Finns stop celebrating
midsummer. The autumn has come.

laundry inside.

hot dog-stand.

postpones their winter survival camp, in hope of real winter weather.

because they can't store Koskenkorva outside anymore. The Finnish army
starts their survival course.

about the cold fingers of the farmers.

feels cold outdoors today!'
