String bag, made of, well, string

crochet_stringbag.JPG

String bag, Erika Knight

I did a crochet workshop with Carol Meldrum a little while ago, and my first proper 'c' word project was this string bag. Made from parcel string - the tough white nasty non biodegradable stuff that hurts your hands. I had a ball lying around and thought a bag would be a great way to use it. This was hard on my hands, but I am quite proud of it! Pattern from Simple Crochet by Erika Knight. My next 'c' project will be the string cushion cover from the same book.

What a good idea. I'm so sick of shampoo bottles all over the place. It's probably take me the next year to convince Graeme that they lived in the string bag.
