Dolly bag

The free gift with membership of Rowan International this year is a cute little kit to make a cotton Dolly bag from All Seasons Cotton. This yarn is lovely to work with and is perfect for cabling as they really 'pop' with the crispness of the cotton, and the addition of microfibre makes it both soft and hardwearing (it's machine washable). The pattern which comes with the 3 balls of yarn is for a little handbag with handles. I decided against using them, and instead lined the bag with pale pink gingham, added a matching pink zip and a scattering of satin roses. I think that the finished thing would make a perfect cosmetic bag for a friend's birthday this week. Her favourite colour is green, so the celery and baby pink colourway should suit her just fine.

I'm waiting for the same gift, in the same colourway. Changing it to a cosmetic bag, maybe with soem of your sister's soap inside is a wonderful gift.

Soooooo priddy!

Lurving that lil rosebud detail. And with Lisa's soap inside it'll smell as good as it looks.

My labels were a gift from Purlpower. I think they came from: www.minilabels.co.uk.
