Kimono

Click here for a blast of colour.

I finally found the dressing gown I've been hunting for, for two years, bought online from Clothaholics. I bought a one off, vintage inner kimono (juban) in crimson silk , lined with a different crimson silk, with a white cotton lapel, for £40. Staggering. It is beautiful. A few hints of foxing on the lapel and a few amazingly neat hand stitched mends here and there (the whole thing is hand stitched), but that's vintage for you. I love it.

I also bought a kimono belt (obi) as a wall hanging, red silk with metallic stitched flowers...

I have to admit to always having a bit of a 'thing' for Japan. Visiting there 5 1/2 years ago did nothing to remove that. Mikey and I went there on a week's stop over before meeting his ma and pa in Oz- a month after first going out together :@
