Clyde
I started this felted handbag from Rowan 38 some time ago. I got as far as the felting, then never finished it off. It sat wistfully on a pile of beads and embroidery stuff, forlornly whispering to me to please sew it up and make it look pretty. Well, today, that is exactly what I have done. This was knitted in the Rowan Yorkshire Tweed Aran in Wild Plum suggested in the pattern but I substituted the suggested 4 Ply Soft (Blessed) for another colour - whose name I have long forgot, but it is a deep deep purpley aubergine colour, left over from another project (Beetroot?). I used some fabric from an old dress for the handle, rather that the suggested wide ribbon, simply making a tube from the ready creased satiny floppy synthetic fabric. I thought the colours went too nicely to invest in anything else. The 4 Ply Soft felted irregular shapes were edged in ggh kid soft, shade 081, and I used some beautiful red glass beads (from Jesh, my upstream in SP7 - many, many thanks again!), which are lined with gold, as the detail on the 'pasties'. All in all, made from stash materials and a great little project which I would recommend. It would look lovely in a light blue with cream and gold trims as a more summery version, I think.

You HAVE been a busy bee!
I'm so impressed - but
you make me ADD things to my things to knit list! Not good, as it's already too long!
