Sari silk yoga mat bag

Sari silk yoga mat bag

Yorkie gave me three hanks of gorgeous Nepalese recycled sari silk for my birthday. Last week it told me it needed to become a yoga mat bag.

It took the full three hanks to knit this stocking stitch bag in the round on 8mm Brittany birch dpns, and it knitted up really fast! The drawstring and the handle were knitted on 5mm ebony dpns, drawstring is a four stitch icord, and the handle is 12 stitches simply knitted in the round and the ends sewn up. The bag will be sturdy, since I made a bag out of the same yarn a good while ago, and it is still going very strong. Now my yoga mat bag will match my other bag!

I love how the qualities of this yarn make every stitch different, and the intensity of the colours is fabulous.

Wow, I am SO glad the yarn spoke to you because it certainly did not say a word to me. Looks great!
