Garter square cushion

Garter square cushion

Garter square cushion from Sarah Dallas Knitting, knitted in Rosso trimmed in Flame Rowan Handknit Cotton. The photos are not as great as they could be, as the only cushion pad I had around was a couple of inches too small for the 18 inch square cushion. Otherwise I am really very pleased with it! Two garter square patterns are separated by a line of contrasting garter stitch. One minute the pattern was meditative and easy, and the next plain drudge. I guess I need to learn to be more mindful when knitting and concentrate more on its meditative side when knitting an easy pattern.... The cushion closes by a flap, but I think I may add buttons and loops to make it more secure. I find with yarns with little give, that I have to adjust needle sizes in order to achieve the correct tension, so this was knitted on 3.5mm and 3.75mm bamboo straights.

It's beautiful! Cozy yet contemporary and different, and in such a great color.

Your cushion is gorgeous! I love textured knits! It's a very cheery colour and well worth the 'tedium' I think. Yummy!

It's lovely! Fantastic colours. I'm into all things bright now I've left my old *you must wear grey to fit in here* job!

Hope to see you on Saturday. Sorry I didn't see you in London, I had to work late and my phone was dead so couldn't let you know. I'll make up for it soon! xx
