Stripey wavy scarf

Stripey wavy scarf

My SP in the Knitty round 8 was the fabulous Nell Nell. She sent me a ball each of Noro Cash Iroha and Silk Garden. I loved her choice of colours so much I bought another ball of each in the same colourways and decided to knit a stripey scarf with it. After swatching several patterns, including a chevron stripe (which is what I had my heart set on) I ripped and swatched, ripped and swatched and ripped and swatched again, until I settled, happily, on a plain old feather and fan pattern.

I love how this has turned out, and although I have not yet lined it, I do intend to back it with oyster coloured satin (when I get round to buying some). For now, you can feast your eyes on the delightful contrast between multi (Silk Garden shade 47) and plain (Cash Iroha shade number 1) coloured yarns. Thanks Nell Nell!

I will be writing up the pattern properly for download in the next couple of days.

Well! It looks marvellous, and so quick, too!

I've started one similar in some black cotton/silk and a ball of Noro that I've pulled out twice now. Nothing like the evenness and regularity you've achieved here.

I used this as a guide: http://www.knittersreview.com/article_how_to.asp?article=/review/profile/020704_a.asp
but it's nothing like as good a pattern as yours. Might have to pull it out again. Hmm....
