Vintage Beret by Sarah Hatton

The Vintage Beret by Sarah Hatton from Rowan 44. Knitted with two balls of Rowan Wool Cotton in shade 947 (I think this shade may have been discontinued - I knitted it with some Wool Cotton I have had lying around a good few years), on 3.25 and 4mm needles (Brittany Birch). The pattern is knitted flat with one seam, which I backstitched.

Knitted in a day whilst watching the Olympics with a sticky eye (many eye breaks were taken for snoozy rests whilst listening to the Olympics). Here she is blocking on an eleven inch dinner plate. I love this burnt orange colour - which should look very nice with the recently completed Tainted Scarf....

I love knitting with wool cotton, the stitches come out so even and the feel is soft and lovely, with intense dye colours and a nice drape.
