On the Powell and Pressburger theme, The Red Shoes is another favourite of mine.

I like to curl up with Jimmy Stewart, specifically The Philadelphia Story but pretty much any Jimmy will help. I also like a good ole musical; West side story, calamity jane or My fair lady. Hmmm, I am almost feeling a nostalgia for wet Saturday afternoons...not quite though!

I think I like weird or gloomy things when I feel laid up - I love a Wim Wenders too.... Or some weepy french nostalgia like Manon des Sources, or Milou en Mai.....

I love the Red Shoes too. In the same vein, A Canterbury Tale is one of my feel-good films, and I can never see Brief Encounter too many times.
