Beth's fish hat
Well, I made Ben his requested scarf, and I can't give one without the other, so I decided to make the Fish Hat from Winter 2008 Knitty. I had several bits and pieces of Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece, and these colours seemed perfect for a Christmas present: Cherry Moon, New Age Teal and Antique Lace. Knitted on 4mm dpns. Such a fun pattern to knit! I used buttons for the eyes rather than appliqued felt as suggested in the pattern, and I picked up the wraps round the mouth shaping, after trying it without (as the pattern suggests) and not liking the outcome.
