Fourth grade

Fourth Grade beret by Abby Franquemont

Fourth grade by Abby Franquemont, a free pattern from Twist Collective. My first foray into entrelac. I have never liked how this technique looks previously, as I think its a bit much for a garment, but for a bag, or a hat or a blanket I think it's fine. This pattern took a lot of knitting, but I am pleased with result. I used two balls of Rowan Tapestry in the Lead Mine colourway. I hope the recipient likes it - I made this as a prize for a photo competition which is part of the Ravelry Books and More Swap 3.

IT'S GORGEOUS! I absolutely love your version. Much better than the version in the pattern. It's so pretty! I had no idea it was a free download (serves me right for just flipping through and not hovering over the pictures). Thanks for the tip! Now to figure out when I'm going to have a chance to make one for myself!

Ohh, that's fantastic!! Love the effect that the yarn gives, interesting, but subtle.

Lovely. Very subtle. Bet it looks great on too.

(...I didn't seem to be signed in properly first time either)

This is gorgeous! I love how the pattern works with the Tapestry yarn. Very impressive!
