RIP Ian Curry
MadPriest has posted a lovely blog entry with a photo I took of Lisa and Ian at her birthday last year. Ian lost his month long fight in ITU at UHND yesterday just after midday. He was a lovely fella who spent the last 20 years trying his best to make a nice life for him and my baby sister. Her heart is breaking, and all I want to do is take it all away. But I can't. I feel so helpless.
Ian was only 47, and Lisa is having to arrange a funeral for her beloved husband at only 40. That feels so, so very wrong.
We are a close extended family, so there is a lot of help around, but to everyone who has emailed me, texted me, Tweeted me a DM, left a message on Facebook or anything else with offers of help, messages of condolence, or simply to let us know you are thinking of her, heartfelt thanks. It does mean a lot.

He fought so bravely, and Mike and I are so sorry for you all. We are both thinking of you and your family and please let me know if there's anything I can do to help, work-wise, to take some pressure off at least. I didn't know Ian very well, but the Sunday family meals I spent with you, when your family let us both in to your home, were sweet and funny and he is part of that memory.

I came across your blog today for the first time. I don't know you at all but share grief similar to yours and just wanted to say that. We are so very helpless, we can't take the pain away, the immense loss of someone who went before his time, even though it's the only thing we really want. All we can do is be there.

I'm so sorry about your brother in law. I saw your previous posts about his condition, and hoped he would recover. Take care.
