Spring in a pasta bowl
My gosh this was a tasty pre Dr Who dinner.
I cooked some wholewheat pasta, and whilst it was boiling away, I squeezed the juice from a lemon into a bowl. I added salt and quite a bit of black pepper, and a couple of large tablespoons of creme fraiche. I added a good handful of torn basil leaves, and a good tablespoon of chopped flat leaf parsley. Some parmesan finished off my spring sauce. Drained the pasta, then stirred into the sauce.
I had mine with a simple tomato salad, with a drizzle of olive oil and a few drops of balsamic vinegar.
A glass of well chilled Chablis finished off this perfect spring supper.
The mango sorbet and pistachio ice cream combo I promised myself for afters might have to wait until after Dr who.
Sigh. Delicious.
