Ishbel

The delightful and thoughtful Scumkitten gave me a copy of Ysolda's Whimsical Little Knits when I visited her in Cornwall recently. I love this little book! I had bought some Dream In Color Baby, laceweight, in Black Parade when I was in London, in Stash some months ago, ably abetted by Flossie.
When I saw Ishbel, I knew right away that the DIC was destined to become this lovely little shawl.

I added an extra repeat of patterns A and B, and ended up with a perfectly sized shawl - 24 inches deep and 62 inches wide. The Black Parade is really a dark navy blue, almost a solid colour, but with subtle variations in shade from black to a lovely Japanesey inky blue. Simply gorgeous. And the yarn is SO sproingy. I was a delight to knit and a joy to block. I can't wait to wear it.
Thanks Ysolda for such a well written pattern. I have cast on the Ishbel beret with the left over yarn from my one skein of DIC. I bought two, so I will have another on to make into something else delightful.
